CROBOT: Coming to get you! – “We’re definitely all about the groove”
It’s all happening, som det frekvent sades i filmen Almost Famous.
– There are many things to be said about the number 13. There are 13 lunar cycles a year, 13 is the Devil’s dozen, and there are 13 musical notes. Now, the number 13 takes on another meaning for us, May 13th marks the rebirth of Crobot with the dawning of our new EP on Wind-up Records. The excitement isn’t left only to one day though. We’ll be unveiling the video for our single “Nowhere to Hide” tomorrow [may 14th].
The Legend of the Spacebourne Killer, not only the single but the whole album, has a very groovy and raw sound. With this new EP “Nowhere to Hide” are you continuing in the same orbit?
– We’re definitely all about the groove and we won’t be leaving it behind anytime soon. It’s our autopilot so to speak. Without it, these astral terrains would be barren. When we left the studio with Machine, we were a funkier bunch than when we went in and with all this time in our van, we’re sure to start smelling a little funkier.
Tell us a little bit about the video you just released.
– We pilgrimaged to the mud and woods of Lake Carmel, NY where we were greeted by an alien, a monster, wild prophylactics, and a few hunters’ barrels, but we made it out with our balls still attached. In all seriousness though, kudos to the crew for putting up with our lame jokes. They were all a blast to work with and we are so happy with the way it turned out. Thanks RAB crew!
We had the pleasure of seeing you for the first time in Los Angeles opening for Truckfighters, you really seem to win whole crowds over by your live performance. Would you say your energy will break through the speakers listening to the EP too?
– Machine has the hands of a sonic mage and definitely did his research before we entered the studio with him. He understands what Crobot is and sounds like and it really translated to the EP. Whatever the case may be, we invite you to attend a live show. It is most definitely our bread and butter!
Any plans playing in Europe and Sweden?
-There have been rumors of plans to tour Europe before the year is over and we have our fingers and toes crossed. We cannot wait to touch down overseas! Some of our favorites bands are from Sweden, too, such as Truckfighters, Graveyard, Witchcraft, Kamchatka, Brutus; so, we definitely hope to tour there in the near future.
Vi tackar och bockar oss så djupt att det knakar i våra hårt diggande nackar och ser fram emot att höra och se mer av Crobot inom en snar framtid!
